This is a splashscreen I made, which is inspired by the loading screens from Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I chose this color, because it looks a bit like the original GIMP color [from the GIMP logo].
I'm glad to hear you like them! To change the splash screen you go to: Windows: Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\images\ Mac: /Gimp.app/Contents/Resources/share/gimp/2.0/images/ and just replace the splash png file there (I'm not sure what the name is)
cool!! thank you very much. im actually running gimp on Linux but it doesnt have to be too different anyway man, another question... xD do you have the icon in another... format? ^-^' cuz it seems that my linux system cant recognize .ico files... u.u so.. i was wondering if you have the icon in .svg or .png format just wondering... x3
yeah, that was what i thought, and actually did, but GIMP did not recognize that format xD notice that im running gimp under linux... .__. haha sorry for all of this ^-^' not mean to bother you or something >.<
Weird, and no problem I uploaded the PNG's here: [link] You'll have to figure out the sizes yourself, because I didn't give them nice names (I just used Photoshop to export all layers to PNG, hehe)
yeah! thank you very much, and really dont worry you have done too much for me x3 really appreciate that and btw, you only work with Gimp? o.o all of that works on your gallery have been done with gimp or photoshop? o.o (just curious) xD
Well, actually, I've been using Photoshop for a very long while now, even this splash is made in Photoshop hahaha (the irony ), but not on a level you see other users here use Photoshop. I also like to use Illustrator a lot, because of the great usability and ofcourse, the vector graphics In the past I've done a lot of work with The GIMP, and I'm pretty sure it makes no difference at all which program you use, for the results you get. It's just that Photoshop makes the process a lot easier and quicker than GIMP. I however still use The GIMP every now and then though, but for a few very simple functions: Color To Alpha (I love that filter hehe), for putting black and white images as a mask on layers and for editing small GIFs. But besides those few things, I don't really use GIMP anymore. Though I like to keep all my programs looking the same, so I make icons and splash screens for GIMP aswell. (but.... I probably won't be doing that anymore, as I switched to OSX recently and now don't have a start menu anymore, so the different icon doesnt really bother me anymore...)
